A great hill covered in Rodeno stone (red sandstone) rises behind the Agujas de Santa Águeda. Located in the town of Cabanes, very close to Castellón de la Plana, it offers stunning views of Peñagolosa and the entire mountain horizon. Mostly south-west facing, the area features boulders in all orientations. It remains cool thanks to the breeze and the abundant vegetation. The entire area consists of high-quality Rodeno stone, which is excellent for bouldering. It is known for its ridges with plenty of "jugs," as well as numerous and high-quality crimps. There is a wide variety of grades, ranging from 4 to 7a, making it an especially great spot for beginners. There's a light breeze, and there are boulders in all directions, both sunny and shady, although the best time of year to go is Spring, so you can enjoy the whole area in good weather. There are some comfortable areas for children, but generally the base of the boulders is small and somewhat exposed, so it's best not to bring them.

Cómo Llegar

From the CV-10, you can enter via La Pobla Tornesa or Cabanes, taking the service road that runs parallel to the CV-10 highway. From Castellón, it's faster to enter via La Pobla Tornesa. Take exit 33 off the CV-10. At the roundabout, take the first exit towards the gas station, and then immediately turn left onto the service road that runs parallel to the highway. After about 3 km, when you see a junction with a very large pine tree, turn right onto the track. From Barcelona, take exit 38 off the CV-10, signposted Cabanes (South). At the roundabout, take the fourth exit, CV-159, towards Cabanes. At the next roundabout, take the second exit, signposted (camí). Continue for about 4 km parallel to the highway until you see a junction with a very large pine tree. Turn left onto the track. Once on the track, turn right at the first obvious junction. The turn forms a 90º bend. Continue for about 100 m until you reach another junction. Turn slightly right where the final climb begins. Make three bends, the last two paved and quite steep, until you reach a clearing, which is the parking area. From there, follow the stone markers.
